On September 18th, CENL – CENL – Científicos Españoles en Países Bajos ad the opportunity to take part in a very special event at the Embajada de España en los Países Bajos.

The day began with the second meeting of Spanish professors at Dutch universities, a space for dialogue where challenges and opportunities in academic and scientific collaboration were discussed. This meeting helped strengthen the connection between the Spanish research community in the Netherlands and diplomatic institutions, creating a highly enriching environment for networking and international cooperation.

The event was followed by an inspiring talk by Antoni Forner-Cuenca, professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and recipient of the Premio Princesa de Girona de Investigación Científica 2025. In his lecture, Dr. Forner-Cuenca shared his research journey in the field of electrochemical materials and explained how his work aims to contribute to a more sustainable future through innovative solutions for energy storage.

From CENL, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the Embassy of Spain in the Netherlands for its support in raising the visibility of science carried out by Spaniards abroad, as well as to all the individuals and organizations that made this meeting possible.

We also want to once again extend our congratulations to Antoni Forner-Cuenca for this well-deserved recognition of his career, which will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration for young researchers in Spain, the Netherlands, and throughout the international RAICEX – Red de Asociaciones de Investigadores y Científicos en el Exterior.

These kinds of initiatives remind us of the importance of building bridges between science, diplomacy, and education, and they strengthen our commitment to continue working for the projection of Spanish talent in the Netherlands.
